Our objective for Fall Baseball in the North Georgia Area is to purely provide instructional baseball for boys and girls ages 5 - 6 and 7 - 8 and boys ages 9 - 10 and 11 - 14. We feel that we can provide a ministry to each and every child and family, as well as address the concerns of safety, protection, the benefits of good relationships in families, and do it in a sports setting.
The fall program will be a great chance for players to learn the game of baseball, keep their skills sharp, develop new friendships, and hear from another perspective about the Love of Jesus Christ. The 5 - 6 yr. old ages will participate in a coach pitch Division with a tee after three strikes. The 7 - 8 yr. old ages will participate in a coach pitch Division with no tee. The 9 -10 year old ages will participate in a modified kid pitch division. The 11 - 14 year old ages will participate in an instructional training program - baseball sills, speed, strength, performance, and private lesson style instruction in a group setting with a goal of improving skill.*
NGBE is so committed to providing a quality program that we will have trained instructors assisting coaches and assistant coaches at practices. NGBE realizes that baseball is a mental and emotional sport as well as physical activity, and is adding the mental side of sports training to each team's game and practice agenda to help mentally prepare our athletes for sports, overcome set backs, and how we as coaches and parents help them learn this as participants and as part of life.
Practices will start in early to mid August, with games to start late-August/early September and the season will end by mid to late-October.
Games/practices will be played Monday thru Friday between 5:00 - 8:00 pm., Saturdays between 9 am - 2 pm and Sunday afternoons 2 pm - 5 pm (These are the possible days. Each team's coach will determine practice day(s) along with one or two games per week)
Each player will be given a T-Shirt and Hat.
League Age for Fall Baseball is based on each player's age for the coming Spring Season (based on age prior to 5/1/12).
